Tommaso Cassandro - Footballer
Tommaso Cassandro, born in 2000, began his football career in Bologna’s youth academy. From a young age, he demonstrated promising talent, culminating in his victory at the Viareggio Tournament with the Rossoblu.
An extremely versatile right-back, Cassandro has proven he can adapt to various defensive roles, thanks to his defensive prowess and impressive physical attributes. His repertoire includes not only defensive solidity, but also dribbling and flanking ability.
In 2019, his professional journey began with a loan move to Serie C club Novara, offering him the chance to make his professional football debut.
The passage to the citadel
But it was in 2020 that his career took a significant turn: a permanent transfer to Cittadella. While playing for the Granata, Cassandro continued to stand out for his defensive reliability and, on April 30, 2022, he scored his first professional goal, deciding a Serie B match against Brescia.
The following year, his talent didn’t go unnoticed, and Serie A club Lecce decided to acquire him permanently in January 2023. Cassandro signed a three-year contract with an option for a further two years, moving for an estimated fee of around €400,000. His top-flight debut came on March 19 of the same year, against Fiorentina, although his season with the Salento club ended with just one appearance.
The arrival at Como
But Cassandro’s adventure continues unabated: on July 13, 2023, he moved permanently to Como, thus returning to Serie B and facing new challenges and opportunities for growth in his football career.
