The beginnings of professional tennis
In 2002, at just 15 years old, Sara entered the professional circuit. After years of dedication and sacrifice, the tennis player from Bologna began to gain international recognition, especially for her skill on clay. Her determination and her playing style, characterized by a blend of speed and endurance, led her to establish herself as one of the most promising players in world tennis.
Career: between successes and goals
Her most successful period came between 2012 and 2013, when Sara reached her peak in the world rankings, reaching #5. In 2012, she made international headlines with a historic Roland Garros final, where she lost to Maria Sharapova, but gained recognition for her ability to compete with the world’s best. That same year, she also reached the semifinals at the US Open, cementing her place among the greats of tennis.
In addition to her singles successes, Errani has had an extraordinary doubles career, forming one of the strongest partnerships in history with Roberta Vinci. Together, they have won 33 WTA titles, including a Career Grand Slam, and the Olympic gold medal at Rio 2016, a feat that cemented her place in tennis history.
